The cut-off contact is a switching contact which is integrated into the 7-pin or 13-pin trailer socket. In the trailer socket, two metal contacts are activated by plugging a trailer plug into the trailer socket.

The mechanical cut-off contact is used for the rear fog light cut-off of the towing vehicle.

The micro switch is an enclosed and waterproof mechanical switch, which has “normally close”, “normally open” and “change over” function. The micro switch is located in the 7-pin or 13-pin trailer socket and is activated mechanically by a switch rocker when a trailer plug is plugged into the trailer socket.

Applications of the micro switch are the trailer identification, the deactivation of the parking assistance system or the rear fog light cut-off/ changeover when towing a trailer.
